YouthHubAfrica invites interested individuals to participate in her Massive Online Open Course (MOOC) on Sexual Consent. The course will provide an avenue for young people to learn more about sexual consent. During the course, myths and tales concerning sexual consent will be debunked, and participants will be exposed to the facts, discussions and interactive sessions relating to sexual consent.
DURATION
The course will run for a period of 3 weeks, beginning on 20th of April 2020, to 8th of May 2020.
COURSE OUTLINE
The course modules are:
- Course Introduction and Overview
- Understanding Sexual consent
- Consent and the VAPP Act: This will also include a 1-hour webinar
- Protecting women and girls in emergencies. This area will focus on how men and boys can ensure maximum protection for women and girls during emergency situations such as an epidemic outbreak like the COVID19 outbreak.
- Using Technology to Advocate for Awareness on Sexual Consent (New Media).
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Participants must be between the ages of 18-40.
- Participants must be committed to being part of the class for the entire duration of the course and take a minimum of 80% of classes to earn a certificate
- Participants must have a good command of English language as all courses will be delivered in English
